Surely, effective scanning of commercial cargo entering the US has a direct impact on national security, right? And not some war with some country that was not involved with attacks on the US and has ended up tripling or so oil prices?
What's ~$2bn for securing our ports against a possible nuclear/dirty bomb attack when we've already spent upwards of $500bn on Iraq/Afghanistan?
