I'm getting ready to pull the plug...

My last post was made from one of the linux machines on the 1st floor of Morewood. This one is being made from my roommate's laptop (he has both a desktop and a laptop so I'm not depriving him of computer access). Throughout the intervening time I've been running a Windows "repair". It's not supposed to take multiple hours!! Right now it says "Setup will complete in approximately 32 minutes" When I started out (before my previous post) it said 34 minutes. When I came back up and we made dinner it said "33 minutes" and now, after 2+ hours of 113 office hours (mostly to keep Eric company, since who's going to show up to office hours 9:00-11:00 on a friday?) it says "32 minutes" remaining. I have noticed the "Installing Networks" progress bar move a bit since we got back from office hours. I don't want to interrupt it because theoretically I'll get a working computer (largely in my pre-virus configuration) when it's done, but I also feel like something must be pretty wrong to cause this kind of slowdown to happen. I still think it's angry at me for writing about how I needed a new one. I recall getting random crashes at some previous point where I was talking about replacing it.
::sigh::
I did reinstall windows less than a month ago, tho I really wouldn't want to do it again.
Grr.
Stupid virus/trojans/Windows.

Eh, whatevs...as long as I get it back up and running this weekend, one way or another. The really odd thing is that Allison's (Alejo's gf) laptop started acting really weird and getting random BSOD's within the last week or two. I was helping to reformat and reinstall windows on her machine last night after several varied backup attempts, culminating in a bit-for-bit image of it onto one of Alejo's drives.
