Right, so I was actually out of bed 7:45ish this morning, only 15 minute after my alarm went off. What's up with that? It's probably either the morning sun on my face or some garbage truck emptying a dumpster. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
So I was up, and I figured I'd go get a 'hearty' breakfast at either shatz or the "Barista Cafe" before physics and calc recitation. However, I ended up browsing stuff online till about 8:10, far too late to go get food before recitations started. I guess it was all for the best though; the food at La Prima is if much higher quality than either Shatz or Barista cafe. Their coffee/espresso drinks are actually good as are their croissants. So, I had breakfast with Ally following our calc recitation, as per the usual. On the way out I spotted the nutbag on her way to La Prima. That certainly brightened my day; I mean, I hadn't seen her in about 3 weeks, and she's such a fun person, even if she's evil and doesn't have class till 10:30 on tuesdays.
So following breakfast I checked my mail and then headed back to 'schlag where I managed to waste about an hour and a half not doing much of note, except perhaps figuring out course numbers and such for the classes I'm taking next semester and doing the first bit of my calc HW, before heading off to lunch at Skibo. I got back from that (after eating a salad/too-small half-sandwich) and finally finished up my calc homework, except for two problems I'll ask about at office hours tomorrow afternoon.
The build this evening was quite productive, we finshed cutting out the tap-flowers for the dancers and also got CourtK's cross (she's the scarecrow) made up to look really crappy. We hit it with hammers and chiseled parts of it away and took to it with a jigsaw before Rob lashed it together with some really crappy/moldy rope. You know how like, in ye olde days sailors would soak rope in tar? Yea, well if you replaced tar with mildew, that would be this rope. However it looks awesomely bad lashing the cross together and similarly will look "like ass" when the winkies use it to pull Evilene's throne out.
After build I walked with Theresa back to Morewood and I ended up getting a lemon-lime gatorade (seems to be the only one that isn't "Fierce Melon" or "Xtreme red" or whatever) and drinking that as I walked back over to Baker to work on my 126 HW for a while. I eventually realized that my issue with part 1 of the HW was not my mad Maple skillz, but the way I had done things in Excel. Rather, I had realized what I had done was bad while working in maple, but I'd forgotten that I had to go back and have it re-compute formulas using that new info. So I got that to work and got part of the 2nd half working before calling it quits and e-mailing my question to the prof. It's not due till thurs, no biggie.
In other news, in MechE yesterday, Choset repeated spelled "shear" (as in shear stress) as "sheer" (as in like, sheer clothing or stupidity or something similar). I wish more engineer's were more literate; or at least I wish the illiterate ones didn't give the literate ones (like me) such a bad name.
