Repeat that two times, spaced an hour apart and you have an idea how I started this morning. I set my alarm for 10ish, ostensibly so that I could study for physics before the 1:30 Dungeon Day activities. Not so much, it turns out. I woke up to my alarm going off 10:15ish. I decided physics could wait so I turned it off and fell back asleep. I woke up again 11:15ish, prolly due to the roomie leaving. Again, I was tired. This next time I woke up to the roomie returning. I checked my clock and to my surprise it was already 2:00!
I quickly gort dressed and headed down to the Dungeon. We moved stuff around for a bit then headed off to Rangos to drop off some long pipes and then we headed off to the cages (student activity storage area in the basement of the parking garage). Our beloved 'sewing nook' had been cleared out, likely because it was a fire hazard and it impeded a lot of maintanence, I think. All that stuff had been put into cage 12. We were also gaining the use of cage 16. Due to some poor planning, the stuff was moved and then we gained the use of cage 16, meaning we had to move all that stuff ourselves. It did mean that we put the stuff into the cage in the order we wanted, ensuring that stuff we actually would use was still accessible. We did that till 4:30ish when we carried some long 2x4s, full sheets of 3/8" plywood and some random assemblage of 2x4's back to the dungeon for use in construction. After that, not having eaten anything all day, I headed over to the O to procure a large sub sandwich. I ended up deciding upon the hot-pepper cheese steak sub. It was quite tasty. Just thinking about it now makes me want a few bites of one. I may have to start getting subs from there more often, as detrimental to my health as they may be.
I watched some celebrity Jeopardy clips on my comp while eating then studied physics for a while before heading over to Skibo to get coffee before the production meeting. Hector came in for dinner at Skibo and we sat and talked for a while before I headed over to the Dowd room for the meeting. That marked the beginning of my mood improving significantly.
The meeting was fairly unproductive, production-wise. Only like, 1/3 of the tech staff was there. I later told Theresa that if she'd been able to come, carpentry would've been nearly 1/4 of the people there (that would be 3 people, her, Drew and myself). However, it was highly entertaining, regardless, and for whatever reason, really lifted my spirits. That, or it may have been the coffee.
After the meeting I went back to 'schlag and studied for some more before heading out to the U in pursuit of Cake. I got some cake and the substance that dubiously carries the title of 'coffee' that they peddle at the U. I only drink it because they have vanilla coffee mate and a coupla containers of that later, the cup of coffee resembles a hot coffee milkshake. With caffeine. I sat there, studying a bit and eating a too-sweet chocolate mousse cake when Theresa came in.
If she came down with the intention of saying hi, which I have the sneaking suspicion she did, I thank her tremendously. It was great to just sit and talk about nothing in particular with a really fun person.
Eventually I finished at the U and headed back to 'schlag where I met up with Doug, eventually and we headed over to the UC Alumni Lounge for some physics studying. I think I feel better about the test now. I wasn't too worried before hand, and I think I understand some things more, but we shall see. I'm looking forward to the review session tomorrow, lead by Vogel himself, which should, hopefully, highlight anything I don't fully understand, giving me the time between MechE and the test (3:30-6:30) tomorrow afternoon to study it.
Well, time for bed, I guess. Back to classes in the morning. I'm actually looking forward to classes again after a not-so-great weekend; for me, at least.
