So this morning I slept through physics recitation (more on that in a minute) and thus went straight to calc rec in the morning. Afterwards I headed over to the UC and got coffee and a scone from Andy's. I stuck the scone in my pocket only to have forgotten it by the time I took my coat off. Come lunch time I was putting my coat on and discovered the scone. It turned into my 'dessert' after my bowl from Taste of India.
So, anyway, after calc/coffee I didn't feel that much like actually doing work, so I ended up watching Fight Club. Wow. I had no sense of what it was really about before watching it. Good movie. Very good movie.
After that I felt oddly motivated to do work. I talked to a friend from my physics rec and got the programming assignment we were supposed to work on. I must say, I'm very proud of myself with this one. My 'theory' worked out just right. I planned it out, generally and then once I worked through stupidity/syntax things, it worked just right. I could play with the variables I was supposed to and get it to behave just the way I wanted afterwards. So cool. Such things generally don't happen for me in vpython/other programming. Mebbe I should use post-it notes to plan them out more often.
Even though I got it working the way I wanted, that process took up much of the afternoon. I looked over the rest of the physics HW and it doesn't seem too bad, I'll do it in course center tomorrow and thursday. After that I started to read through the next chapter for Econ when I was pleasantly surprised by a call from the nutbah suggesting that we dine at Shatz. I concurred and much tasty food was to be had. Shatz has markedly improved. The smothered pork as good. As in, not just good for shatz, but good for campus food in general. I raise a cold one (nalgene filled with Pittsburgh tapwater) in salute of you, Shatz. Keep up the good work. I felt bad though, my breathing difficulting prevented me from being much of a conversationalist. Oh well, I should be getting better in the next day or two.
Right...so...yes! Why I slept through physics recitation today:
1. I'm sick. I don't think I fell asleep for a few hours after I went to bed at 1. This resulted in me being so tired when my alarm went off that I hit it to shut it up and fell back asleep without any remorse.
2. My roomie (as sick or sicker than I am, currently) maintains that he will go swimming in the morning before class. Mind you, classes for him don't start till...I dunno, 10:30 on tues and thurs. Regardless, he sets his alarm for like, 6:30. It goes off, wakes us both up and then he rolls over turns it off and falls back asleep. I wake up and fall back asleep too, but it doesn't help matters.
Back to the nutbag for a sec...
Somehow she (an english major) has more work/is more stressed out than me (an engineer). I'm mildly baffled. I mean, yea she's a reporter for the Tartan, but I help build race cars and do SnS. Granted, my SnS time for this next show has just been a single production meeting so far, but that will certainly increase once builds/sound stuff starts. I guess in a couple weeks we'll both be extra-crazed from the stress, instead of just her.
Well...shall I watch a movie, play a game or read econ? Hmmm....
