Well, it's official, I'm sick. It sucks. I've got some cold or something I caught from the roomie. Oh well. I decided against fencing tonight; the whole 'breathing' thing while sitting here doing calc HW was somewhat of an effort, much less advancing and retreating up and down a fencing lane. Oh well, next week it is.
This also means I can't/won't give to the blood drive tomorrow. Meh, at least I have a reason not to do it; don't feel as bad about it.
So...today. What'd I do? Avoid the frigid temps, that what. It was 2 feels like -10 this morning (yes, F) as I left 'schlag for 9:30 calc in Geagle. One thing about the cold, it does smack some sense into your respiratory system. I felt fine (other than the numbness in my nose) as I walked between buildings today.
So after Econ I headed over to Skibo for lunch/hanging around inside. I went to the bookstore and got me some CMU sweatpants. I was still considering fencing at the time, and the walk to Skibo gym in gym shorts in 12F weather did not entice me.
2:15 rolled around and I headed over to DH 1212 for my MechE lecture. We did Unit Conversions and SigFigs (Significant digits) (!) Oh boy. I've done those in what...4 other classes(Physics, Chem, AP Physics, AP Chem)? I guess we didn't really do them so much in M&I1, Schumacher assumed we knew the concepts.
Anyway, I guess this means the first MechE HW will be really easy.
Similarly, Econ HW will be really easy. The 'problems' we've done so far might have posed a problem at the beginning of algebra 1 in 8th grade. Or maybe as a challenge problem at the end of 7th: "So apples are .40 and oranges are .10. You have 2.50 to spend. If you buy 10 apples..."
I kid you not!
Anyway, after MechE I headed back to 'schlag, realizing as soon as I put my bag down that I had wanted to stop at entropy and pick up some cough drops and a pack of tissues for my backpack. I headed back out and returned shortly thereafter. I didn't leave 'schlag again (I did manage to get my Calc HE done) until dinner time. I hit up Shatz (which is markedly improving) and ended up spending a while talking with Doug, Joel and some guy who does buggy and is on the dining committee about all manner of things, including the meal plan as well as the fact that we all basically live on the same road, I95. I'm in Boston, Doug's from NJ, Joel's from Maine and the other guy was from Philly. Crazy how small a world it is, isn't it?
Well, I WoWed for a while tonight, leveling up my Gnomish Mage, Scrumpy. It's fun shooting people with fireballs and magic missiles.
Well, I am sick, tired and recently showered, I think it's time for bed.
