OK, so that is my friend (the paranoid schizphrenic writing major who hates essays) doing her celebrity-jeopardy Connery impression en espanol. I have a feeling it will be her new catch-phrase, replacing her Tourette's-like outbursts of HINKELMAN (our now-ex I&A teacher).
So, anyway, today was rather underwhelming. As I said before, Calc and Physics, while a tad more entertaining than usual, were not a huge deal. MSE was very brief. We got our 3rd mid-terms back (I got a 92) and we also got our final grade for the course. Mine's a 90.25 (an 'A' is 85 and up). Therefore, since Prof DeGraef is so freakin' awesome, I have no need to take the final. If I had a 'B' or lower, then I could choose to take the test and if my score on the final was higher than my final grade, it would replace my final grade, increasing it by no more than one letter grade (final grades here at CMU are just A, B, C etc, no '+' or '-'), but I don't have to take it, therfore I am happy.
So that got out about 40 minutes ahead of schedule and Nick, Kelly, Joel and I got pretzels and hung out for a while in Kir Commons. I headed out to the bookstore after everyone else left and rooted around there for a while (I wish I had gone on Tuesday, everything was 10-75% off, oh well) and then I headed back to 'schlag briefly before heading back out again for my final I&A class. The last few presentations weren't half bad. What was obnoxious was there was some minor 'snafu' with the online FCE's for the 76-101 classes (thats Interp & Arg) we had to fill out paper ones, even if we'd already done the online one. I think what the 'snafu' was is that CMU has a policy about not displaying info about their students online or something similar, and almost all the I&A teachers are actually masters or PhD students, they can't have their FCE's posted online, or something similar. That's what I heard, it may or not be true.
Anyway, so after I&A I headed over to Scaife for the SAE design review. Once I got there I realized I had no real reason to be nervous. No extra faculty was there and it was just the two guys from Ford I'd met before so that went alright, I guess, a few other people had made some good progress over the past week and that's good. The guys from Ford seemed to have some good advice, not really for us on the throttle so much, but for other people they had a lot to say. They might be able to finagle us some money, and if we have a functioning car much earlier than we currently expect we'll be able to take the car to a Ford facility and test it out on a bunch of their equip. However, at the moment it seems a tad dubious that we'd get it 'done' by then, but we shall see.
As for my plans for this evening, I may go see Hero later, it's showing in McConomy. More likely I'll sit here and try and go thru the Solidworks Tutorials so that I can be some actual use to SAE, and cuz SW is what everyone, everywhere seems to use, so it'd be good to know it.
