Something Doesn't Add Up Here...

So I could buy a Blu-Ray SATA drive for my desktop for $500 or an entire PS3 for $600. The PS3 includes a Cell processor, graphics card, etc etc. The Blu-ray SATA/IDE does not. And, with glorious, glorious DRM, there's a good chance I could have an issue with my HDCP path and not actually be able to play a movie at full 1080p resolution.
