the center of attention.
Sunday was a lot of fun, even if it didn't go totally smoothly. I crested that hill you go over on the way to the Randolph cinemas and all the lights were out! No traffic lights or lights in stores. Cops were controlling intersections. The parking lots were empty so obviously the power had been out for a while. I pulled into the Outback parking lot and made a bunch of calls while I waited for about 10-15 minutes. Eventually I figure I ought to head home and then mophir or kenny called...I think it was kenny using mophir's phone...anyway, we ended up meeting up at friendlys. Outback it isnt, but oh well, 'twas fun. We then ended up seeing Unleashed at Dedham. It was very good. I wasn't expecting anything further than Jet Li kicking people. The movie was much more; I highly recommend it.
We then caravaned over to the Rte 128 train station, but mophir's car got lost on the way and we had to wait a while for them. Eventually we got together and then headed out to Krispy Kreme. Somehow the other two cars got lost on the way and Kevin and I ended up sitting outside for about 15 minutes waiting for one of the cars to get there. By then Krispy Kreme was closed and we drove down Rte 1 again and noted that the Dunkies on Rt 1 is 24 hr so we ended up hangin there for a bit before I headed home.
Yesterday was nice and relaxed. My dad and I headed over to Newton to see my Grandparents because I missed them at the BBQ on sunday because of dinner and a movie with the AzN brotherhood. That was pleasant enough and then we went back home and worked on stuff in the yard. My mom and I put up fencing around the bottom of the deck so my dog can't get tangled up under there when he goes out. I also ended up re-mowing parts of the back yard because my brother did a 9/10-assed job and there were still some parts where the foot+ high grass was very noticable. By then it was 2:30 or maybe even closer to 3:00. Dina came over to see if I could go to Waltham, but I couldn't because I had to stick around the grill food for our cook-out and I was already sweaty and grass-stained. Some other time, I guess.
Today was business as 'usual.' The traffic was abnormally light, it seemed. Not that I'm complaining one bit.
It was a slow day for me, at least. I spent several hours sitting around reading various textbooks on Titanium. I did spend upwards of an hour and a half inventorying the machined-off ends of shot-sleeve liners. 'Twasn't that exciting, though. Oh well, at least I got paid for it. Tomorrow should be more interesting, my supervisor, Tricia, will be in and hopefully I'll have some things to do, especially since I only have a couple hundred pages left of the pile of textbooks that was dumped upon me.
