...especially this one. However, much of the traveling was up and down the stairwell to the 'schlaundry room. Since only 1 washer was availble at a time, I could only get 1/3 of my laundry going at a time, the end result being what could have been done in 1.5 hrs got stretched to about 2.5 hrs. For about an hour I was heading down every 20 minutes to move a load along or empty a machine or fill another one up. 'Twasn't much fun and it made studying for physics that much harder.
But I did get all my dirty laundry washed and I did get my big duffel packed in anticipation of my travels on Friday and I've read through (or will before I go to bed tonight) all 10 chapters worth of physics notes plus all the printed out supplements that we've gotten. I'm feeling pretty good about it, actually. Of course, we shall have to see how I feel walking out of the test no later than 4:30 on Friday. Happily, Schumacher told us at the review today that he wrote/will write the test planning on us spending 2 hrs on it, much like he gives us two hours to do what he planned to be 1 hr tests. He's a nice guy; however he looks suspiciously like Gordon Freeman.
So I went to dinner at the U and ended up having dinner and free coffee with Miriam and Ally. I must say that I have very odd friends. Brittany could sometimes be mistaken for a paranoid-schizophrenic while Miriam and Ally act and think that they are the same person. And being the nerds we are, Ally ended up answering once and for all the question I've harbored since 11th grade chem about the structure of Ozone. Between that, the laundry and the studying, I'd say I had a quite successful day/night.
It is very odd to think I'll be home (or at least on the ground in Providence) in about 48 hours. And I'll be home for a while, about 3 weeks. Quite likely a significant portion of that time will be eaten by World of Warcraft, but that still leaves like a whole week and a half to find things to do that aren't hanging around the house with the bothers. Potentially I will learn to drive the Volvo over break, granting me an enormous increase in mobility since I'd have my liscense and a car I can drive. That would be pretty amazing. However, given the fact that any snow (or pretty much any form of water) on the driveway/street 'grounds' the Volvo, the actual opportunity to learn will be brief.
Regardless of what I actually do for the near-month that I'll be home, it will be very pleasant. Not that I haven't enjoyed life here at CMU so far. In fact I love it! I honestly can't imagine myself anywhere else (which is a good sign, I guess). But college life is still hectic and I miss clambering out of bed going downstairs, pouring myself a cup of coffee and breaking out the newspaper. Alright, I am a middle-aged man; I have been since middle school practically. I mean I did sorta skip that whole 'rebellious teen' phase and moved straight onto middle age; Chief once asked my parents, freshman year, if I was 14 or 34. Honestly, I complain about my parents being immature, not the other way around, what's that all about?
Well, I guess I ought to go finish reading the last chapter or so of physics...
