Wow, it's been a busy day, and theres still a good 2hrs left of it (hopefully a productive two hours).
Woke up this morning and went to physics then calc. Calc was interesting, doing revolved solids. I like revolved solids cuz I think they're cool and I understand and can do them. The worst part was calculating the volume of a chocolate glazed doughtnut at the end of class becuase I had yet to eat anything (remember, I roll out of bed ~8:10, physics starts at 8:30) and I had been up for two hours. I got breakfast (a bacon egg and chees croissant, not very good served chilled) and hung out for a bit before heading back to 'schlag and studying for my MSE test at 1:30. I got distracted, as usual, and didn't spend enough time actually studying. Although the time I lost to distraction likely wouldn't have helped, I would have spent it on semiconductor circuitry while it was magnetism that I needed to read up on. Oh well, I think the test went quite well.
I chilled at Skibo for about 40-50 minutes and got lunch and read the news online. I headed over to the Baker clusters to print out the outline of my presentation and I ended up having to wait 6 minutes for a one sided sheet of paper to print because jerks get around the '50 page' rule by printing a bunch of files that each consist of fewer than 50 sheets, but total like 100+. Those people suck. Though it is my own fault I didn't print to Baker 2, it didnt have a queue, it never does. My presentation went well, I think. I was nervous before it but while I was up there talking I was pretty comfortable and I used up the 5 minutes almost exactly and I think I answered the questions well.
After I&A Brittany, Mark and I headed over to Gingers (or Teppy, as it is sometimes called). I Brittany and I dared to sample the 'poultry surprise' (the 'lunch' lady didn't what kind of meat was in it, might have been chicken, likely not turkey, could've been goose or duck, for all I know) and I wish I hadn't. I could've gotten something much better. The salad was really soggy too. Oh well. The point is that Mark is certainly no older than 4 and Brittany is a paranoid schizophrenic (w00, I spelled it on the first try!). Good times, most certainly. People here are awesome.
After that it was back to 'schlag where I messed with this stupid VPython program that's due friday for physics. It was refusing to do the factorial of 599. I mean, what good is 3.4 GHz anyway? As it turns out, the factorial-algorithm embedded in the combinatorics command is much better and can handle factorials and whatnot that equal upto about 1e125, then it starts to crap out. However, I mis-understood what the arguments actually are in the combin() function and it was refusing to work. I went to the course center (I had been planning on going anyway) and eventually got it figured out and actually in 40 min got 3/5 of the assignment done, the rest I'll do tomorrow in recitation.
From there I went to the second-half of the fencing club tourney. The first half was on monday and that was the 'pool' session where we were divided into groups and fenced amongst ourselves and somehow numerical rankings are pulled out of the results (I was 6th of 9). Today we were placed into a bracket based on those rankings and fenced. I got knocked out in the first round, mostly because I was set against someone far more experienced than me. Also, the only working foil they had for me was a pistol-grip, which I really dislike. Not only does it not feel like I'm holding a sword (the grip looks like a pistol as opposed to a sword) and the way I have to exert pressure with my hand to control the blade made my hand cramp up by the 6th point or so (they were to 15 points today). But it was still enjoyable. Poking people with metal sticks generally is.
After that I headed over to Andy's to get something to eat, I ended up with a wrap that was quite tasty (chicken with BBQ sauce) but was highly overpriced ($5.50). If I'd gotten the block meal (Wrap+Smoothie) then it's a good deal (smoothies are like 4.50 and a 'block' is roughly $6.50 or so, late-night), but I wasn't about to use one of my last few blocks on a late-night snack.
So I'm back at 'schlag, watched a recently d/led episode of The Adventures of Pete and Pete, took a shower and put a load of laundry in downstairs in the 'schlaundry room and soon I will need to move the two loads into driers. Tonight I'd like to get some of my written physics HW done, seeing that's really the major work I have left this week. Sure, my paper's due friday too, but that's almost entirely done. I could hand it in now, but I know it can be better.
Well, that was my exciting day. Tomorrow is going to be rather boring, I have a meeting with HINKELMAN about my paper in the early afternoon and I may/may not have a SAE meeting in preparation for our design review on friday in front of faculty/alum from Ford and such.
