MSNBC - House approvesintelligence bill
This should be a tremendous step forward for America. Assuming this passes the house and is implemented in a mildly intelligent fashion, our intelligence services will be able to more fully take advantage of these 'new-fangled' computers and their 'interwebs' so that they'll be able to do their jobs better.
Best (?) of all it "— Creates a Privacy and Civil Liberties Board of private citizens, with access to all government agencies, to oversee privacy protections." Hopefully this'll mean no more USA Patriot act style backdoor civil liberty infringements. Now, how these 'private citizens' will be chosen I have no idea, but at least they're trying.
